I've repackaged the bakudan edit for DROP THE BOMB -System SF Mix- here. That works in MAX2 JP and -should- work in the DDR Extreme arcade...
Random oni is fun ^^; It's hilarious when it can give you anything from Peace Out standard solo to Sweet Sweet Love Magic heavy 2x left sudden... =P
Hello,
It's hard finding people that have done edits for MAX2 PS2 JPN. I've done 2 so far (well, one was a conversion from MAX USA)...
Anyway, I'd love to try out your DTB System SF Mix edit. However, I do not have access to a Dex Drive. Is there a way you could put the edit into a stepchart form? Or is there a program that will convert gme files to a stepchart?
As a bribe for this request, here is a link to my Sexy Planet remix edit. Let me know what you think!

I've also made an Overblast! edit, which I'll be converting to a stepchart in the next few days.
BTW a couple friends and I each took turns attempting the random oni last weekend. It was hillarious seeing scores of less than one percent round after round. Steath can be a tad bit tricky on oni. After a couple of hours of trying, we ended up beating it once, when the game 'mercifully' kept giving me standard songs on 3x!

I'm sure there's a utility to make a stepchart of it somewhere. I don't really do much with edits other than convert them. I don't really work with stepcharts either ^^;
I would suggest getting a DexDrive, the basic serial model can be had for $10 at a local EB or something. Great piece of hardware, and I still think it's worth the $30 or something I paid for it originally.
Posted by StarCreator at May 9, 2003 10:57 PMOh, forgot to ask... Random oni gave you stealth? I didn't think Random oni allowed stealth... I haven't seen it give Little, Freeze off, or speeds greater than 3x, either...
Posted by StarCreator at May 9, 2003 11:00 PMOk, I had assumed that Dex Drives were going to be hard to find, but I just picked one up on my lunch hour from EB for $2.60. Sheesh!
Anyway, so now I'm still at work here and haven't gotten a chance to play with it yet. Is this thing compatable with PS2 memory cards? Otherwise, you'd have to put the save on a PS1 card and use the 'import' feature in Max2, right?
I'm sure it'll be obvious to me once I poke at this thing tonight, but I'm still curious as to how this is going to work.
And yeah, we definitely got stealth. The first time it happened, was when my friend got all the way to the final song in the set. The song was Silent Hill, and we were waiting for the arrows... when we didn't see them right away, we figured it was on a speed mod or sudden, but still the arrows weren't appearing.... and finally they appeared, after registering as misses, of course. Completely busted.
For what it's worth, I've never gotten Sudden in the random oni.
Posted by Bean at May 13, 2003 04:09 PMYeah, to export edits you have in your library, you need to use the Library Manager to output the save. It'll create a PS1 save that you can copy to a PS1 memcard, and carry that over to the DexDrive. With the DexPlorer software, all you need to do is make a new .gme file and drag the save you want over.
To insert edits, do the reverse - open the .gme file with the save, drag it onto the PS1 memcard, copy the save to your PS2 memcard, then use the Outside Manager to input it.
Posted by StarCreator at May 14, 2003 12:28 AMwell, anyways, where do i find the stuff on the web so i can download it and put on my dexdrive. i can not find the files. i wish to save my scores and stuff on the ddr extreme machine.
